COMMENTS... This is a heavy yielding plant that is grown by nearly all tomato growing enthusiasts in Australia. It is a vigorous grower adapted to all areas and tolerates heat and high humidity as well as it tolerates cool conditions. The fruit is moderately sweet and low to moderate in acidity. It is a prolific producer and consistently produces 8-10 Kgs. of fruit in normal conditions. The fruit have thin skins and will crack in wet conditions.

ORIGIN This variety (although erroneously, often thought to be Australian) It originated US 1860. It was then introduced to the UK asTrophy from where it was introduced into Australia. It is a cross between a cherry tomato and a lumpy shaped red variety. One of the first large red varieties to be grown. Grosse Lisse is French for Large Smooth.
