Soak the silverbeet seeds a few hours before sowing, as they only absorb water slowly. Sow thinly in drills 30-40cm apart and 12mm deep. Cover the seeds with vermiculite. Cover lightly with mulch (ie. shredded sugar cane mulch) Keep damp with light watering until seeldings emerge. (approx. 2 weeks). Have a year round supply with 2 or 3 sowings between Spring & Autumn. Sow 12mm deep in drills 30-40cm apart firm, down the soil and and cover lightly with mulch. Any loose mulch will do. Keep the seeds damp with light watering until the seedlings emerge.
