A delightful brightly colored mixture of small fruited gourds. Gourds, like other vine crops, are warm season annuals requiring a long growing season and full sun. Sunny weather is important for maturation of fruits. Poorly drained, heavy soils or hardpan soils should be avoided. Sandy loam or clay loam soils, high in organic matter, are very desirable. Plant ornamental gourd seeds (thick-walled) about 3 to 5cm deep and 30cm apart. Space the rows 2m apart. When planting in hills, sow three to four seeds per hill, and thin to two to three plants per hill. Packet 1.15 grams (approx. 17 seeds)
