For best results direct seed into the garden and do not transplant out. Do not soak beans before plantingor they will rot. Rot is one of the commonest causes of failure when planting so ensure the soil is no more than damp and do not water until seedlings emerge. Plant the seeds about 15cm apart in drills spaced abot 30-45cm apart. Protect from strong winds keep soil moist after seedlings have emerged.  Provide trellising for support.
